The spider lift: what it is!
The self-propelled crawler-mounted platform is a device composed of a crawler undercarriage to which a slewing ring engages a system of telescopic or articulated arms that support the lift basket. An onboard control system allows the operator to control and operate the lifting system in complete autonomy. The vehicle stabilisation system gives the device the typical spider shape from which it takes its name.
Spider platforms can reach great heights in very little space, reaching up to 50 metres and more in the largest models. Depending on the lifting system, articulated or telescopic, they can easily overcome obstacles or move even long distances horizontally and reach inaccessible places. The power system can be hybrid (electric + diesel) petrol or diesel. Thanks to winches and hooks, the spider lift can also adapt well to lifting loads and material.
